Cello Chat with Host Dr. Benjamin Whitcomb and guest David Lescalleet

About the Episode

Another wonderful Friday again, that also means that another wonderful episode of Cello Chat is here! This week I am overly excited to speak with my guest David Lescalleet.

Meet the Guest

Cellist David Lescalleet began his academic career at the age of 16 studying under the tutelage of Professor Susan Sturman at the Del Mar College school of music. During his time there, David was awarded the Del Mar Music Scholarship, as well as competing and winning the annual honors competition two years in a row. After transferring, he then began his studies under internationally renown cellist Nikola Nino Ruzevic at the University of North Texas. While studying there, David would be awarded the Winspear Scholarship, as well as take the role of Principal Cellist for the acclaimed UNT opera orchestra. Although classically trained, David has spent over seven years working with recording studios to help compose, arrange, and perform for a wide variety of musical groups and genres. These genres include Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Blues, Country, Folk, and Bluegrass.
