Meet the Guest
Described as an "artist of refined taste and musicianship" (The Strad Magazine), and a "superior instrumentalist" (Harris Goldsmith, New York Concert Review), Louise Dubin’s solo performances take her throughout the US and Europe. Recent appearances include recitals in South Carolina and North Carolina in February 2024 and February 2025; the 2023 premier performance of Roger Stubblefield’s cello concerto “Divertissement” in New York; recitals in Paris at Reid Hall, the American Cathedral, Salle Gaveau and CRR; featured performer at the Festival de Violoncelle de Beauvais; as well as in New York City at Bargemusic, Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter auditorium, Columbia’s Maison Française, and Trinity Church. She’s also appeared at Caramoor and Piccolo Spoleto in concert with Julia Bruskin, Philippe Muller, Reiko Uchida and Andrew Armstrong, and as guest chamber musician in concerts with Daniel Hope (Savannah Music Festival), Stephanie Chase, Raphaël Pidoux, the Artaria String Quartet, and the Garth Newel Piano Quartet. As the cellist on Stefon Harris’ African Tarantella album (Blue Note Records, 2006), she performed in Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Symphony Hall, the Jazz Standard, and many other venues. She has also toured the US as cellist of the Core Ensemble (with actor, percussionist and pianist).
