About the event

Join the UW-Whitewater Piano Trio for an evening of passionate chamber music featuring the evocative Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 2 by Czech composer Josef Suk. Composed when Suk was just 17 and a student of Antonín Dvořák, this early masterpiece showcases the youthful intensity and lyrical richness that would define Suk’s voice throughout his career.

The trio—comprising faculty members from the UW-Whitewater Department of Music—brings deep interpretive insight and technical finesse to this rarely performed gem. Suk’s trio weaves Bohemian folk elements with lush Romantic harmonies, moving from brooding drama to radiant lyricism across its four movements.

Whether you're a longtime chamber music lover or new to the genre, this concert promises a compelling musical journey through one of the early treasures of Czech Romanticism.
